Scandinavia

The countries I've included in my version of Scandinavia are Iceland, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Definitions vary depending on where you look, but for my website, these are my inclusions! All have their merits, Norway being the stand out winner for its absolutely mind blowing landscape, which cannot fail to have your jaw thrown to the floor. Taking a cruise is a perfect introduction to this incredible country - you'll not see a single person standing on the deck of the ship without a camera! Sweden may lack the wow factor of landscape value, but it wins many hearts with its wild and untouched countryside, friendly people and efficient infrastructure. Denmark loses out on the landscape front but again scores heavily with tourist friendly cities, welcoming people and attractive coastline. Finland has a good understanding of tourism, with an excellent modern transport system, perfect English is spoken throughout and it has a fine heritage. Iceland may be too expensive for many, but the landscape here is wild, deserted and unlike anything you'll see anywhere else in Scandinavia - geothermal activity is evident everywhere, and it's a great place to see nature at work.
